How the Story Begins
From cybersecurity to medium format
I didn't start in photography. I started in code.
For years I worked in high-tech and cybersecurity, after training at ISC Paris. Long days of risk modeling, threat analysis, and the kind of engineering precision that leaves no room for "almost right." It taught me how to see structure in chaos. How to anticipate problems before they happen. How to deliver under pressure when something irreplaceable is at stake.
That training never left me. It's the reason I arrive at every venue two hours before I need to. It's why I bring two cameras, two card slots, two backups, and a plan for the rain we hoped wouldn't come. The wedding photographer you hire today is also, in a quiet way, the systems engineer I used to be.
Photography itself was the gift my father gave me when I was young. A passion I carried for decades before I let it become my profession. The turning point came in 2018, with a workshop under Greg Finck, the photographer whose editorial work first showed me what was possible at the intersection of fine art and wedding documentation.
It took eight years from that workshop to where I am now. Looking back, every season was preparation.
