Couture-Wedding Storyteller, Paris & Worldwide

You're planning a day you'll only live once, and somewhere in the back of your mind you're wondering if you'll actually get to live it. That's why I do this work: so you can stay inside your own celebration while someone you trust holds the record of it.

Photography was a gift from my father when I was young. The discipline came later, from years in high-tech and cybersecurity: anticipate everything, so nothing is lost.

Together with my queen Cindy and our daughter Vicky, I've built a life around two things I love most: my family, and the privilege of documenting yours.

xoxo, Franklyn K

From cybersecurity to medium format

I didn't start in photography. I started in code.

For years I worked in high-tech and cybersecurity, after training at ISC Paris. Long days of risk modeling, threat analysis, and the kind of engineering precision that leaves no room for "almost right." It taught me how to see structure in chaos. How to anticipate problems before they happen. How to deliver under pressure when something irreplaceable is at stake.

That training never left me. It's the reason I arrive at every venue two hours before I need to. It's why I bring two cameras, two card slots, and a backup chain your files cannot escape: every frame written to two cards as I shoot, copied to separate drives through the day, and mirrored to the cloud before I sleep. In a decade I have never lost a single frame. And it's why I arrive with a plan for the rain we hoped wouldn't come. The wedding photographer you hire today is also, in a quiet way, the systems engineer I used to be.

Photography itself was the gift my father gave me when I was young. A passion I carried for decades before I let it become my profession. The turning point came in 2018, with a workshop under Greg Finck, the photographer whose editorial work first showed me what was possible at the intersection of fine art and wedding documentation.

It took eight years from that workshop to where I am now. Looking back, every season was preparation.

My Approach

Present for the Unrepeatable

I light every scene to serve the moment, never the other way around. Whatever the room gives me, soft window light or a dark reception hall at midnight, I shape it so the picture feels the way the night felt.

I shoot medium format for the file size and tonal range that hold up in print. The kind of files that will still look right when your daughter prints them at her own wedding twenty-five years from now.

I shoot RAW. I edit on a calibrated screen. I never use AI to compose your photographs. The frames you receive are real moments, captured by a person who was actually present in the room.

How I Work

A typical booking with me

Most of my couples find me through a wedding planner or a publication. The first conversation is always a private 30-minute discovery call. No pricing pitch, no pressure. I want to understand the day you're planning before I quote anything.

If we move forward, I send a personalized proposal based on your specific celebration: the date, the venue, the coverage, the deliverables that matter most to you. Every proposal includes my full presence, your private online gallery, a slideshow, and a portrait album.

I never cover a wedding alone. Outside France I travel with an assistant; in Paris, with a second photographer or a trained assistant beside me, so no key moment rests on one camera. For private families, I sign an NDA without being asked.

Off the Clock

Family

When I'm not shooting, I'm with my wife Cindy, our daughter Vicky, and our son. Cindy founded Image Unique, a beauty and image consultancy based in Paris.

We are a small family that values slow mornings, short trips, and meals that take three hours.

Wednesdays are sacred. They belong to family. No calls, no shoots, no exceptions.

Where I Work

Based in Paris. I shoot in French and English, and I photograph weddings that bring two cultures into one room. I learn your rituals in advance, from the henna to the church, so I am in place when they happen.

Past destinations include Tuscany, Provence, Bordeaux, the Loire Valley, the French Riviera, Geneva, Santorini, the Ivory Coast, and beyond.

For destinations outside the Paris region, my proposals include transportation, accommodation, and meals as a single grouped line. No surprise charges.
