Indian Wedding Lisbon · Portugal

The Story
An Indian wedding unfolding across Lisbon over several days. Haldi in full sun, a baraat on horseback, jaimala garlands in a palace courtyard and evenings that ran by candlelight above the Atlantic.

A multi-day wedding asks a photographer for stamina, but above all for an understanding of how each ceremony works and why it matters to the family. This celebration moved across Lisbon over several days, and every chapter had its own light, colour and pace.
The haldi came first, in full sun, the bride in a floral lehenga surrounded by family. The mehndi followed with dhol drums and dancing. For the baraat, the groom arrived on a white horse in sherwani and turban, lifted by his friends before he even reached the bride. The ceremony took place in a palace courtyard, where the couple exchanged jaimala garlands in soft evening light, framed by frescoed halls and blue azulejo tiles.
Lisbon gives a multi-day wedding a rare range of settings within a short drive: palaces with painted ceilings, a pink manor house surrounded by gardens, olive groves above the coast and the Atlantic at blue hour. We also made portraits at Belém Tower, where the stone arches open onto the Tagus river.
As an Indian wedding photographer in Lisbon and across Europe, I plan coverage around the rituals rather than the clock, so the moments the family cares about most are never rushed. If you are planning a destination Indian wedding in Portugal, France or Italy, tell me about your celebration, or explore more destination wedding galleries.
